November 13, 2012 @ 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM
DonationKali Puja at Shantivan with Swami Ken, November 13, 6PM.
Welcome on Tuesday evening to Shantivan in Faribault, MN for an indoor Kali Puja. With a solar eclipse on this Tuesday, the puja will be much more powerful for your path to enlightenment!
Kali puja is performed to diminish all negativity and ego that prevent material prosperity and spiritual progress.
Kali Puja is celebrated in honor of the goddess Kali, who is a form of Durga.
Kali, the consort of Shiva, is the ferocious incarnation of the Goddess Durga, and is a powerful Goddess. Kali is the Goddess of time and death. Everything must go through a cycle of creation and destruction. After Summer there must be Winter. The purpose is to seek help from the Goddess to get rid of evil forces outside and inside us. Kali helps us destroy the ego so we can connect to the love of the universe. Some say that we are in the age of Kali Yuga, the last of the four stages that the world. This is a way to acknowledge this era and bring the light into the world!
