DESCRIPTION:Druids: The History and Appeal of the Druid Mystique\, \nwith psychologist Karl Schlotterbeck\nJan. 20th\, 6:30 – 9:30PM\, $25.00 \nExplore the mystique of the Druid – ancient and modern. Originating out of the learned class of the Celtic world\, the image of the Druids (and their reverence for trees) has played in the imagination of the Western world for two thousand years. What is it in our consciousness that keeps the Druid mystique alive?\nDuring this evening seminar\, we will explore their history from ancient times through the Druid renaissance of the 18th and 19th centuries\, and into the Druids of the modern world. We will further explore what they believed about their place in the world\, the role of women\, and some of their practices\, and how Druidry differs from Wicca. There may be some surprising discoveries regarding not only the development of Christianity\, but of some of our cultural traditions of today. \nKarl Schlotterbeck\, MA\, CAS\, LP\, came to Druidry through his interest in shamanism\, indigenous religions\, and a calling that involved a native Pipe-Carrier\, the mountains of Ireland and exposure to modern Druid orders. He is currently the elected Archdruid (a nine-year term of office) of the international Henge of Keltria\, and is the founder of the Invisible Druid Order (IDO) and its three-year curriculum of studies\, using his experience in Celtic Shamanism and Depth Psychology. \nAbout Karl:\nKarl Schlotterbeck\, MA\, CAS\, LP is a licensed psychologist who has spent more than five decades in explorations of the human psyche that have included the depth psychology of C.G. Jung\, parapsychology\, biofeedback\, hypnosis\, along with teachings from Shamans (core\, Celtic and Mongolian)\, Sufis\, Swamis\, Celtic Spirituality\, Rosicrucians and Native American spiritual teachers. He is the author of Living Your Past Lives: The Psychologist of Past-Life Regression\, (1987 & 2003)\, The Karma In Your Relationships (2003)\, and co-author of Lion of Satan\, Lion of God (1993). His next book – The End of Karma – is nearing completion.
